Responsible for overseeing the monthly close process ensuring the team adheres to the close deadlines and working to improve the efficiency of monthly close processes.
Responsible of the bank accounts reconciliation process
Planning, coordination and timely completion of external and internal audit requests
Manage staff to ensure accurate, timely and reliable financial results are produced
Review account reconciliations prepared by the team to ensure the accuracy of general ledger balances
Establish goals and expectations for staff members and assist team members in development of their job skills
Ensure that accounting is done in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and BlueBook policies in collaboration with Clusters Corporate functions & management
Ensure that reconciliations and journal entries are in compliance with Company policies
Collaborate with Hub and Cluster leaders in monitoring and facilitating month-end close activities.
Work with external actuaries to facilitate accounting and monitor results for pension accounting, as applicable.
Develop and/or review ad hoc schedules for planning and decision making, and assist with special projects as necessary.
Grant that Key performance indicators are completed timely and that the information coming from these indicators is reviewed and used to make decisions strategically.
Review documented business processes and problems. Work with the team in developing solutions to enhance efficiency.
Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems.
Hiring, training and coaching employees.
Grant that Standing Operating Procedures and Desktop Procedures are prepared and updated at least twice a year.
Prepare an Update own Capacity file in order to list the activities performed and the time consumed by each of them
Grant that all team members Capacity file is prepared, reviewed it and use this information to manage the team efficiently
Prepare and Update detailed mapping process file and share it with accounting Manager
Education
Experience/Certifications
6+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years of supervisory of staff
Big 4 or other national public accounting experience preferred
Oracle experience highly desirable
Chartered accountant
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Supervisory skills for motivating, guiding and evaluating employees
Language Requirements
Spanish: mandatory
Knowledge and Skills
Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Demonstrate ease to work in a teamwork environment and solution oriented
