We are building an Agent-to-Agent Communication and Transactional Network that enables AI agents, people, and businesses to securely communicate, coordinate, verify identity, and transact.

As Head of Technology, you will lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of the platform from an early stage. This is a highly strategic but also hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys building complex systems from zero to one while helping shape product direction and engineering culture.

You will work closely with founders and cross-functional stakeholders to design scalable infrastructure for AI-native workflows, transactional systems, identity, permissions, and agent orchestration.

The ideal candidate combines strong architectural judgment with execution capability and startup adaptability. This person should be comfortable making long-term technical decisions while also contributing directly to product development, hiring, and engineering operations.

  • Define and lead the technical architecture for an agent-to-agent communication and transactional platform.
  • Drive the development of the MVP and future product iterations.
  • Design scalable and secure systems for agent identity, permissions, communication, orchestration, and transactions.
  • Make key technical decisions across infrastructure, APIs, AI integrations, security, orchestration, and data architecture.
  • Build or integrate LLM APIs, agent frameworks, workflow orchestration systems, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Establish engineering best practices across code quality, testing, deployment, observability, documentation, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with founders to translate business goals into technical roadmap and product execution.
  • Ensure the platform is built with reliability, scalability, privacy, and trust at its core.
  • Contribute hands-on to architecture, product decisions, and technical problem-solving when needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in technical leadership, software architecture, or engineering management roles.
  • Proven experience building products from zero to one, ideally within startups or high-growth environments.
  • Strong background in backend development, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience designing scalable and production-grade software platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-native applications, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, orchestration systems, or workflow engines.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, permissions, encryption, auditability, and secure API design.
  • Experience hiring and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Stack / Preferred Background

Experience across several of the following:

  • Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Java, or similar backend technologies.
  • Distributed systems, event-driven architectures, microservices, and API design.
  • Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and production operations.
  • PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, SQS, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.
  • LLM APIs, RAG systems, embeddings, vector databases, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, Qdrant, or pgvector.
  • Agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, or similar.
  • Security-focused and compliance-aware architecture design.
  • Transactional systems, marketplaces, payments, or B2B platform infrastructure.

Highly Preferred

  • Familiarity with MCP, agent-to-agent protocols, OpenAPI, JSON Schema, webhooks, and SDK design.
  • Experience integrating payment platforms such as Stripe, Adyen, or Mercado Pago.
  • Experience building developer platforms, workflow engines, enterprise integrations, or network-based products.
  • Previous experience as Head of Engineering or early-stage technical leader.
