We are seeking an experienced and dynamic System Integrator + Solution Architect to design, evaluate, and implement data governance technologies within our Microsoft Azure and Databricks ecosystem. This role will lead the technical evaluation of vendor solutions, create scalable architectural blueprints, and ensure seamless integration of selected technologies and implement at enterprise scale to support our enterprise data governance framework and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Technology Evaluation & Vendor Management: Lead the analysis of alternatives, proof of concepts (PoCs), and selection of data governance vendor technologies (e.g., data catalogs, metadata management tools, data quality tools, MDM platforms).
Solution Architecture & System Integration: Design end-to-end data governance solutions leveraging Azure services (Azure Purview/Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage, etc.) and Databricks capabilities (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake) and various vendor solutions such as, Collibra, Profisee, Symmetry etc.
Implementation & Deployment: Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to engineering teams during the implementation and integration phases, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications and architectural plans.
Performance Optimization & Observability: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data governance platforms and associated data pipelines, designing for supportability and operational excellence.
Documentation & Best Practices: Create comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Deep expertise in Azure data services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Purview, and Azure Security features (RBAC, Private Link, encryption).
Proficiency with Databricks platform: Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Databricks Unity Catalog for unified governance.
Strong programming/scripting skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and potentially Scala/Java, for development, debugging, and automation.
Data governance technologies: Experience in implementing tools and frameworks for metadata management, data quality, data stewardship, MDM, and data observability.
Architectural design & methodologies: Expertise in designing data architectures (e.g., Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture) and applying enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK).
System integration experience: Proven ability to integrate disparate data systems and vendor technologies into a seamless ecosystem.
DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and other tools for automated deployment and infrastructure management.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks certifications.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
